About B12 Injections:

B12 is an essential vitamin for achieving optimal health, whether obtained through diet or supplementation. Supplementation may be necessary due to a common genetic mutation known as MTHFR, which affects approximately 40% of the population. Methylcobalamin is the most bioavailable form of B12, meaning it is the most readily absorbed and utilized by your cells, and is particularly important for those with the MTHFR mutation. Other forms of B12, such as cyanocobalamin and hydroxycobalamin, may also be used based on individual sensitivity to methylated B vitamins. Blood tests for B12 levels can be misleading since B12 is water-soluble and does not accumulate in cells. Instead, homocysteine levels should be assessed through blood work to determine the need for B12 supplementation.

FAQ

Who is B12 recommended for?

B12 is recommended for individuals with neuropathy, fatigue, anemia, and high homocysteine levels (assessed through a blood test).

How is B12 administered?

B12 is administered as an injection, either at Kore or through a take-home kit. B12 supplements can also be recommended to take between injections.

How do I know what dose I start with?

Dr. Uppal will determine the appropriate dose for you to achieve the desired effects and results. B12 injections can be recommended weekly to monthly, with sublingual supplements to take in between injections. Dr. Uppal can also prescribe a full vial and teach you how to self-inject at home for more frequent administration of B12 injections.

Do I need to be an existing patient to be prescribed B12?

An initial consultation is required to evaluate your medical history, current symptoms, and suitability for B12 injections. B12 injections are part of a comprehensive treatment plan to address your overall health concerns.
