What's New At Kore: Sept 2026

The Avocado Oil Scam

If you caught this on my Instagram already, consider this a reminder. If you didn't, this is worth knowing.

In July of this year, UC Davis researchers tested 54 products marketed as containing avocado oil and found that 89% showed evidence of other oils entirely.

What they found:

  • 93% of chips tested contained other oils
  • 71% of mayonnaises tested contained other oils
  • 100% of salad dressings tested contained other oils

For comparison, they tested 20 olive oil products using the same method. Only one failed.

The breakdown (and what to know):

  • Specifically choosing products made with avocado oil means we pay a premium...that we are not getting.
  • "Made with avocado oil" creates a health halo that influences what we buy
  • What's on the label isn't always what's in the bottle, and with no enforceable U.S. standards for avocado oil, there's nothing stopping it

Bottom line:
Labels can lie. Keep making the healthier choice, but stay aware. I recommend sticking to smaller companies and transparent producers and don't trust labels blindly.

Daily Kore Basics Now Available Online

A long ingredient list doesn't make a better supplement. What matters is what's in it, the form it's in, and how much you're actually getting.

Most multivitamins are under-dosed, packed with fillers, or require multiple bottles just to get the foundations. I formulated Your Daily Kore Basics with the nutrients we consistently see missing or suboptimal in clinical practice, in the right forms and at the right dosages. You don't need handfuls of different supplement bottles; this one addresses the insufficiencies we see in most people with just three capsules a day, two month supply and one bottle.

Intentional formulations. Clinical standards.
No unnecessary fillers. Shop Your Daily Kore Basics

Bonus: For Kore members purchasing in-office, your Member discount now applies to the Daily Kore Basics!

Thorne Gets Acquired By P&G

A few of you have reached out since Procter & Gamble announced its acquisition of Thorne earlier this month for $3.8 billion.

The short answer:
Yes, we are continuing to carry and recommend Thorne for now.

Thorne has earned its place in our clinic through quality, rigorous testing, and formulas that hold up clinically. That has not changed yet. But when a practitioner-grade brand gets absorbed by one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world, the concern is valid. P&G also owns Metamucil, Align, and Vicks; a very different category of products.

So, we'll be keeping an eye on it,
and here's what we'll be monitoring for:

  • Any changes to formulas, ingredient forms or dosages
  • Changes to sourcing or manufacturing standards that may make them less 'clean'

If anything changes, we'll be letting you know and adjusting our recommendations accordingly, and if you learn something new; share it with us too!
